Showing of ‘Child 31’ Short Film

The Parish will host a screening of the very moving short film Child 31. This DVD was produced to explain to the world the simple, yet life life-changing, work of Mary’s Meals, the poverty relief charity which now feeds more than 730,000 children each day. The film follows back-packs as they leave Scotland for far distant lands, and captures the moment when these simple parcels are opened by excited children. It highlights the plight of children living in the world’s poorest regions, and the urgency to reach out a hand to help pull them from the scandal of child poverty. The film changes our appreciation for the most simple tools for life: a pen and a spoon.

The showing will take place in St. Augustine’s Parish Hall next Saturday 22 February 2014 at 7.30pm. The viewing lasts approximately 30minutes. Afterwards, refreshments of tea/coffee will be served.
