Holy Hour: Corpus Christi Sunday 10th June 2012 at 5-6pm

To mark Corpus Christi Sunday (10th June 2012) St. Augustine’s will host a special Holy Hour of Prayer in the Church between 5.00 – 6.00pm.  This provides an opportunity for individuals and families to come together to once again dedicate ourselves to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, and vitally to pray for our own private needs and intentions. We hope that many of our parishioners, young people and visitors will make a special effort to support this time of prayer. Even if you cannot spare an hour, please feel free to drop-by for as long as you can. The Holy Hour will include readings, devotional prayers, hymns and will conclude with Benediction.

The special theme of these Eucharistic devotions is for the success of the 50th International Eucharistic Congress which is due to take place in Dublin from 10th – 17th June. For more information on the Congress please click here. This is our chance as a parish to join in prayer with the universal Church, and particularly to unite ourselves with the Irish Church, which as we know has suffered terribly in recent months over public scandals and internal divisions. Please God this Congress will be a catalyst for change in Ireland; a chance for the Church to restore a sense of unity once more.
