ALMA Club News
Lucy Kirkland, one of the young helpers, writes on news and events from the ever popular ALMA Club:
After a short break from the ALMA club we were able to start back with a bang as soon as the hall renovation was completed to everyone’s delight. We were able to continue with our usual activities of bowls, art and crafts, karaoke, bingo and dance parties.
At the end of October we out-did ourselves at our annual Halloween party. The hall was decorated with spider webs, ghosts, pumpkins and lanterns together with scary music as people entered the Hall of Terror.
We started the night when everyone arrived with Musical Statues followed by a game of Musical Chairs. During snack time we were able to indulge in a hand-made Halloween themed cake which was kindly donated to us. Everybody loved it! We then finished our night off with a parade of costumes and a disco.
Everyone made a fantastic effort with all of their costumes. We had Chris dressing up a baby, Brian was a Painter and Decorator, Simon was Popeye and Anthony was a clown. Our best dressed went to the pop stars of the night. Ryan won Best Male Costume and was able to make us think Michael Jackson was in the hall with his fantastic costume and dance moves. Gina was an ABBA member and won Best Dressed Female.
A fantastic night was had by all and we are already beginning to get excited about our up and coming Christmas celebrations!
