Parish Pilgrimage: Day 4
Parish Pilgrimage: Day 4
This morning we left the medieval city of Oviedo to head south west to the ancient pilgrimage city of Santiago, the resting place of St James the Apostle.
Along the route we stopped at a viewing point to survey the city and the towers of the ancient Cathedral which dominates the skyline.
On arrival at our hotel most pilgrims took to the narrow streets of this beautiful city for a stroll before dinner. We celebrated Mass in a historic twelfth century Church dedicated to Our Lady of Sar.
Tomorrow our Guide will help us to familiarise ourselves with the history and sites of this great city.
