St. Augustine’s at Christmas (2014)
The parish hosted a Christmas Family Day on Sunday 21st December, with Santa himself as our special guest. After both 10am and 12noon Masses the parish hall opened its doors for another of our famous brunches.
As parents and families enjoyed a hot roll and cup of tea downstairs our younger parishioners made their way upstairs to Santa’s Grotto. Our elves were on hand to corral the little ones in to see Santa where they were all very keen to remind him how well behaved they had been in the lead-up to Christmas! After a brief chat with Santa each child received a small gift as they left with a smile on their faces.
We offer our grateful thanks to all those who helped to prepare the hall for the Family day, all those who prepared and served food, and to all who were part of Santa’s entourage on the day, including the Coatbridge elves! This was a great way for the parish community to gather together prayerfully at Mass, as well as socially, in the lead-up to the celebration of Christmas.
