The ALMA (Association of Lourdes Motherwell Aid) club at St. Augustine’s is a local weekly social club for adults with

additional support needs. As part of a larger network of clubs in the Diocese it’s organised  and co-ordinated by local volunteers and young people.
Every Wednesday at 7.30pm -9.00pm the club takes place in St Augustine’s upper hall. There are various fun activities such as arts and crafts, bowling, karaoke, bingo and pool. The club also takes part in annual events such as family days, discos, day trips and nights out. Currently there are 30 members and 10 helpers. We believe that the ALMA club is an essential part of the parish and the community.

This Easter Week six of our helpers travelled to Lourdes Shrine in France to take part in the annual HCPT pilgrimage. Reports and photos of the pilgrimage will be posted soon. If you would like to get involved in our ALMA Group, either as a member or as a helper, just speak to one of the Clergy oralternatively speak to Michael Grant the Group Leader by dropping-by any Wednesday evening.
